The Wealth Management Leadership Team leads and oversees the vision for the division and are available to you to contact for information, guidance, and recommendations. They set the direction for the department by introducing new initiatives, innovations, and improvements for growth.

Mat Gleason

 

Mat Gleason currently serves as President of FBL Wealth Management, LLC (RIA) and FBL Marketing Services, LLC (broker-dealer), as well as Vice President – Wealth Management at FBL Financial Group, Inc.  During his tenure with the Companies, Mat has held various leadership positions within the Companies – including VP – Agencies, Iowa Regional Sales VP, Nebraska Regional Sales VP, Distribution Support VP, Director of Agency Development and several other positions within the Agency Development and Agency Training departments.

Prior to joining our Companies in 2010, Mat was an Agent with another company where he was a Rising Star Award recipient, perennial Life Leaders qualifier, and was the 2009 Iowa Agent of the Year. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and various industry designations including the CLU® and RHU®. Mat maintains the series 6, 7, 24, 26, 63, and 65 registrations with FINRA.

Julie McGonegle

Julie McGonegle was named the Financial Services Administration Vice President in January 2022. She has overall responsibilities for oversight of the Central Services area providing support to the actuarial, operations and business enablement teams. She also works closely with the sales and marketing teams for life, annuity and wealth. Additionally, Julie is part of the Wealth Management Leadership team and contributes to the strategic planning and development efforts for the business unit, as well as an officer of the B/D and RIA boards and Operating Committee.  Julie’s entry in the industry began as a financial planner with another firm in 1991.  Upon joining the Companies in 1994, her initial role working in the B/D was to train and promote mutual funds and variable products. Through the years, she has served in various roles in the Marketing & Distribution organization taking on additional leadership and management oversight responsibilities, including Wealth Management Operations Vice President.

A graduate of Iowa State University Graduate (Earned Bachelor’s degree with work towards master’s degree), Julie has also continued growing her industry knowledge earned in attaining several industry designations which include: CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, and FLMI and maintains FINRA licenses (Series 7, 6, 63 and 26) along with IA life insurance license.

Chris Shryack

Chris Shryack currently serves as Vice President Life Sales, where he oversees the Life Sales department and Wealth Management Sales and Recruiting. He has held various other positions since joining Farm Bureau Financial Services in 1989, including Agent and Agency Manager.  

Chris has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from University of Iowa and has his LUTCF certification.  His four children are also all graduates or currently attending University of Iowa. When he has some spare time in his busy schedule, Chris enjoys golfing, barbequing and attending University of Iowa football games.

Kaley Fleig

Kaley Fleig was named Financial Services Operations Vice President in January 2022.  In this role, he has overall responsibility for the Wealth Management and Annuity Operations and serves as the supervising principal for broker dealer and registered investment advisor business lines.  Additionally, this role is part of the Financial Services Leadership team contributing to the strategic planning and development efforts of the business unit. 

Kaley joined Farm Bureau Financial Services as Director of Wealth Management Operations in September of 2017, where he oversaw wealth and annuity operations, financial planning and transition teams. Prior to joining Farm Bureau, Kaley spent 14 years in investment and banking, gaining experience in operations, regulatory affairs, IT, accounting, marketing and compliance. Kaley holds FINRA series 7, 24, 53, and 66 securities exams and Iowa life, health and variable life and annuity licenses.
