Why I Joined Farm Bureau: Meet Regional Manager Lisa Smith
November 17, 2020
When you join the Wealth Management team at Farm Bureau, you’re joining a family. We celebrate each other’s successes and collaborate on a regular basis. The dedication Farm Bureau Financial Services has to its Wealth Management Advisors is unmatched.
Before becoming a Regional Manager, I already had connections to Farm Bureau. I’m lucky to have three in-laws who are successful Farm Bureau Financial Services agents. When I learned of a multi-phase project to build a
new Wealth Management division, I was excited about the opportunity to be part of building a foundation for full-service financial planning, investment management, and estate and succession planning solutions.
What Attracted You to Farm Bureau?
When I joined Farm Bureau Financial Services, I knew I was joining an organization with a strong reputation with more than 80 years of proven success. As a rural Iowa native, where my father and grandfather were Farm Bureau client/members, I knew Farm Bureau had a strong network of trusted client relationships over a 14-state territory. I was also impressed with the offerings Farm Bureau established for its Wealth Management Advisors, including a competitive compensation/benefits package, endless support from back-office and business support from RBC Clearing & Custody, along with access to leading-edge technology. As a Regional Manager, I knew I would have all the tools I’d need to support my advisors.
What Did You Do Before Joining Farm Bureau?
I spent over 30 years in Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and broker/dealer management, operations, recruiting, compliance, due diligence, relationship management and business development. I have experience working with high net-worth clients, public fund clients, nonprofit organizations, financial institutions, and insurance agents and financial advisors with best practices and money management.
